Gift of Games in Grayslake, IL

Gift of Games was my Local Game Store (LGS) for three years. I’ve been to countless LGSes due to my job and I will say this was the best LGS I’ve been to. The thing they did the best at doing was foster community. Regardless of what you are into, there was a place for you and made you feel welcomed.

My wife and I happened upon the store while out for a walk after dinner at a nearby restaurant. Very friendly and greeted us when we walked in the door. Nice selection of board games. A wall of miniatures (always happy to see Battletech and Team Yankee/Flames of War) with some paints and hobby supplies.

To say that Gift of Games is an excellent local game store would be to undersell it, honestly. I drove for two hours almost at the spur of the moment to participate in a closed store TCG event and had a wonderful time. The staff are friendly and engaged with their customers and their community.

Nice store! I started going recently to get cards and adjacent supplies. Staff has been friendly and happy to help with any questions I had. 😊 I haven't attended any of their events yet but I plan to once I find a day I'm free from work and other obligations that lines up with them!
