About this directory
cardshops.org is an independent directory of trading card shops in the United States: shops that sell Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, sports cards, One Piece, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Lorcana and other cards. It lists 8758 shops in 3590 cities across 51 states, and the list grows as new shops pass the check below.
The rule every listing has to pass
Map searches for "card shop" return plenty of businesses that don't sell trading cards: greeting card stores, print shops, phone stores and more. So a shop is listed only when there's evidence that it sells trading cards. That evidence has to come from at least one of these:
- Customer reviews that mention buying trading cards there.
- The shop's own website, when it shows trading cards for sale.
Business details such as the Google category and the shop's name help find candidates, but a listing still needs that evidence. Shops that don't pass aren't shown.
Every claim is backed by evidence
Listings say more than "this shop exists." They can say which games a shop carries, whether it buys collections, and whether it runs tournaments, box breaks or grading drop-off. Each of those claims appears only when a customer review or the shop's own website supports it, and the listing shows that support next to the claim: a quote from a 4 or 5 star review where there is one, or a note that the claim comes from reviews or from the shop's website.
If a shop carries a game but nobody has mentioned it in a review and its website doesn't say so, the listing won't claim it. That means some listings say less than you'd find in person. We'd rather leave something out than guess.
A listing is not an endorsement. We don't inspect shops or test their prices, and we don't vouch for any shop's service.
Where the data comes from
- Public business listings for the name, address, phone number, hours, Google rating and review count.
- Public customer reviews for the review quotes and for the evidence behind each claim.
- Shops' own websites for the games, services and buying policies they describe.
Hours and policies change. The "open now" note on a listing is worked out in your browser from the listed hours, so it can be wrong on holidays. Call before a long drive or before bringing a collection to sell.
How shops are ranked
Wherever shops are ranked, including the best card shops pages, the order comes from each shop's rating multiplied by its number of reviews. That favors shops with many good reviews over shops with a handful of perfect ones. The best-of pages only include shops with at least 10 reviews. Shops can't pay to be listed or ranked.
What you'll find here
- Card shops by state and city.
- Card shops by game, across 9 games.
- Shops that buy cards, based on reviews or the shop's website.
- Card shops by the numbers: shops per person by state and city.
- Guides on selling, grading, storage, box breaks and local events.
Corrections
If something on a listing is wrong, such as hours, an address, a closed shop or a claim you think isn't right, email hello@cardshops.org. Include the shop's name and city, or the page link, and what should change. If you own the shop, see the contact page for corrections and removal requests.
